Wallsend is about four miles north east of Newcastle upon
Tyne. The branch at 1 High Street West
comes to Martins Bank from the North Eastern Banking Company Limited, which
merges with the Bank of Liverpool in 1914.
Wallsend is a full branch, with a sub branch at WALKER. In 1969 the branch
closes at 1 high Street West, and a new outlet is opened in the “Forum”
shopping area, at No 19 High Street West.
At the time of the merger with Barclays, Wallsend operates across
the full six day banking week, and has been open ever since. You can see images of the new Wallsend
Branch HERE. |
